“ Kytin’s wish was
a blast ”

- Kytin’s Mom

Hawaii five-O, one of Kytin’s favorite Television shows, is an action packed crime show that prompted his interest in law enforcement. From hunting down felons to analyzing evidence, Kytin loves the idea of protecting and serving his community.

Although seven year old Kytin has been diagnosed with Leukemia, he hasn’t let that stop his passion for fighting crime. Thanks to Make-A-Wish® Hawaii, Kytin got the opportunity to be the star of his own mock Hawaii five-O episode and realize his wish of becoming a police officer.

Marking the start of his wish experience, Detective Kytin was put to the test apprehending a criminal. While being filmed, the young crime fighter captured and cuffed the bad guy, and then uttered the show’s famous catch phrase, “book em’ Danno!” Just like a natural, Kytin was able to detain the offender without a hitch. Saving the day, Kytin was a hero!

Debuting as an actor was only a small part of Kytin’s wish experience. In addition to his first film appearance, Kytin had the privilege of shadowing the Kauai Police Department for an entire day. Decorated with his own badge and uniform, Kytin fit right in with his fellow police officers and was ready to enforce the law! Moving from department to department, Kytin got to experience every possible position at the Kauai PD. From the K-nine unit to the SWAT team, each division let Kytin partake in a variety of exciting exercises creating an unforgettable experience for the aspiring officer.

Kytin’s extraordinary experience was possible because of amazing supporters in Kauai’s community who came together to create a three day extravaganza for the much loved seven year old. Kytin’s wish was action packed, bringing joy to his heart and a smile to those around him.

Special thanks: Kauai Coast Resort at the Beach Boy, Kauai Police Department, Volunteer/Wish granter, Diane Pang, videographer, Robert Zelkovsky, Director and actress in Kytin’s video Laurel Petterson
