Planned Giving

Join our many supporters who help Make-A-Wish Hawaii create lasting memories for the children and families we serve by including us in your will or estate plan. You can help future generations of local children with critical illnesses receive wishes by including us in your will, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy.

If you have already named Make-A-Wish Hawaii as a beneficiary of your will, trust, life insurance, retirement plan or other account, please let us know. We would like to welcome you to our Legacy of Wishes recognition society and give you special benefits that come with membership. You can remain publicly anonymous and will receive these benefits, and we understand that your plans may change.

Planned Giving Include Us in Your Will, Estate Plan

A gift through your will or estate plan is the simplest and most popular way to help grant wishes for future generations of children.

Adding a gift through your will or living trust can be as simple as adding a single sentence. Here's our preferred language; take this to your attorney to use as a starting point. Contact us if you have any questions!

I give the sum of $___ or ___% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Hawaii, P.O. Box 1877, Honolulu, HI 96805 (tax id: 99-0220777) to be used or disposed of as the Board of Trustees deems appropriate in its sole discretion.

An Easy, Quick and Free Way to Support Future Wishes

Helping future generations of children can be easy, quick and free by including us in your life insurance, retirement plan or other account. Request a beneficiary designation form from your life insurance company or retirement plan custodian, make us a beneficiary and send your updated form back to the company. To name Make-A-Wish Hawaii as a beneficiary, you will need the following:

Beneficiary's legal name and address:
Make-A-Wish Hawaii®
223 South King St., Honolulu, HI 98813

tax id: 99-0220777

Planned GivingIRA Charitable Rollover

Congress reinstated a law that allows you to make a tax-free gift from your individual retirement account (IRA).

Known as the IRA charitable rollover, this law no longer has an expiration date so you are free to make annual gifts to Make-A-Wish Hawaii® from your IRA this year and well into the future. The recently reinstated law allows individuals 70½ and older the ability to transfer up to $100,000 from their individual retirement accounts directly to a qualified charitable organization without being subject to income taxes on the distribution.
