My Life Now with Reid

My Life Now with Reid
Reid was having a normal day at school up until his dad picked him up early to go to the hospital. Results had just come in from what his pediatrician initially suspected to be “Cat’s Scratch Disease.” Turns out, it was cancer.

The growth under his chin that used to help him play hooky from school was now the biggest obstacle he would face in his young life. Hindering his social life and missing school was just some of the side effects of his condition, along with all the treatments that burdened his schedule and body.

Make-A-Wish Hawaii granted his wish in the 90’s for a new computer – his family’s first! He wasn’t expecting such generosity by complete strangers, and it was a gift that put the world at his fingertips and helped him stay upbeat.

By 2000, he was deemed cancer-free – a milestone that he attributes to the power of hope.
