Make-A-Wish Hawaii Takes Over Courtyard Brunch

Ward Village today announced that its June edition of Courtyard Brunch will serve as a Make-A-Wish® Hawaii takeover called “Waffles for Wishes” on Sunday, June 28. The event, presented by Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s Young Leaders Board in partnership with Ward Village, will serve as a benefit for Make-A-Wish Hawaii, featuring a delectable spread of local chefs, themed cocktails and live entertainment by DJ Anit.

Ryder's Wish: Make-A-Wish Hawaii Reveals Brand New Playground

Make-A-Wish Hawaii granted a very special wish to 8-year-old Pukalani Wish Kid Ryder (Ekolu) and his family this weekend. Ryder was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, which results in an abnormally early fusion of the bones of the skull leading to developmental delays. His wish request was unique – to have his own backyard oasis where he could tap into his imagination.

Ten-year-old Molokai boy Felix has had more than his fair share of challenges. Diagnosed with a progressive, genetic disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy that causes muscle mass loss and weakness, he’s spent a lot of time in doctor’s offices. But for his 10th birthday, he forgot all of that and spent a week as a normal, happy kid, fulfilling his wish to visit Florida’s Disney World.
