“ This really is Addison’s dream come true! ”

- Danielle, Addison's mom

Dear Princess Addison, you are humbly invited to the Kingdom of Arboretia where magic and revelry await, only for the pure of heart do we open our gates. We can’t reveal your quest just yet, but a journey through an enchanted forest will surely be a part of the test! Let me give you a clue, a song, a flower and a fruit is all that’s needed to bid you adieu. This journey will reveal something you never knew… This is the day your dream will come true!

Unicorns only exist in fairytales right? For 6-year-old Addison from Georgia, unicorns aren’t mythical creatures, they’re REAL. In fact, Addison believes that these majestic magical animals live in the rainforests of Hawaii!

Addison is a self-proclaimed princess that belongs right alongside Disney royalty like Cinderella and Belle. But life wasn’t always a perfect fairytale for Addison and her family. At the age of 4, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoid leukemia – the news was heart-wrenching, but Addison didn’t let it take away her lively spirit – this princess wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of her one true wish. She wished to be a princess and a star in her very own fairytale in Hawaii!

And that fairytale was about to begin…

Once upon a time, in a land far away in a valley called Waimea, there lived a Queen who used the gifts of the rainforest to make herself beautiful. She used the sap from the trees as hair gel, the color from flower petals as eye shadow and the juice from berries as lip-gloss. The Queen had stolen from the rainforest too many times and the magical forest nymphs had had enough of it! The animals of the rainforest no longer had sweet sap to drink, and the hummingbirds no longer had flowers to drink from. Even the most mythical creature of all, the Unicorn has disappeared from the forest. So the nymphs kidnapped the Queen, and held her captive in the rainforest, so she could do no more harm.

Sweet princess Addison listened to the town Squire announce this tragedy – she was in shock and dismay! Her concern for the queen showed on her face. It was now up to HER and the prince of Arboretia to save the Queen! Together they would bring back the Queen and all the magical creatures of the rainforest.

But how ever would they save the Kingdom? The magical forest nymphs would only release the Queen after three tasks were accomplished by someone that was pure of heart – Princess Addison, of course.

The first task? To find the most beautiful flower in the rainforest, so the nymphs could replenish the land with its beauty. Addison found the prettiest flower and gave it to the nymphs and she was on to her next task.

The second? To find the sweetest fruit in all the land, so the nymphs could take it’s seeds and grow more fruit trees. After tasting the juiciest and sweetest fruit she could find, Addison handed it over to the nymphs who revealed the Queen and the final task.

The last task was a bit more difficult than the rest. Fair Princess Addison had to find the long lost unicorn, so that the Kingdom could be happy again. It seemed impossible for Addison to find a magical creature hiding in this vast and mysterious rainforest, but with a little tip from the Queen, Addison knew just what to do…

“Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true”, Addison sang. A beautiful song sung by a sweet voice lured the stunning unicorn out of the rainforest. The marvelous creature brought joy to the Kingdom and the Queen was released! But only after she promised to no longer rob the forest of its beautiful things to make herself prettier.

Not only had Addison rescued the Queen, she had also taught the Queen a very important lesson; that true beauty comes from within. As Addison sat on the magnificennt unicorn, her bravery and pure heart shined brighter than ever before – she wasn’t just a princess, she was the most BEAUTIFUL Princess the Kingdom had ever seen.

The quest was over - everything was right in the Kingdom of Arboretia, and as Addison said, “It was happily ever after.”

It’s just really touching to see the lengths that everybody has gone through to make her day so memorable. I teared up twice as we were walking through the forest looking for flowers and fruits. ”
