Diagnosed with retinoblastoma at just 2 years old, Jayrose fought like a true warrior princess. Now 4 years old, looking at life through one eye, she won’t let anything stand in her way of meeting Princess Sofia the First—a warrior princess just like her.

Thrown into the whirlwind, Jayrose and her family “banded together for support and prayers,” facing the news and doctor visits head on. With much support and courage from others, her family has been coping as well as they can, though the fight with childhood illness is never an easy one.

When asked about her wish, Jayrose thought of her one true hero: Princess Sofia! With the help of her wish granters, Jayrose and her family were off to the magical world of Disney in Orlando, Florida! At Hollywood Studios, Jayrose spotted Princess Sofia, and ran up as quickly as she could to wrap her arms around the princess who had given her so much strength in her journey.

Magic was in the air, alighting the hearts of Jayrose and her family as they sang along with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna during the Frozen parade. Bonded over time away from their medical challenges, united in a land of fairy dust and dreams come true, Jayrose and her brother thought it couldn't be any better—until they were picked out of the crowd to go on stage with the cast during the Lion King.

A dream come true, Jayrose skipped down Main Street in her princess dress. It was a single vision for her mother, Yoshiko, that spoke to the adventure and the healing power of Jayrose's wish come true. Yoshiko recalls they were “able to come out of the situation… happier and closer.”

“Kids do not ask for the conditions in which they find themselves in… I am grateful that this time, one of her wishes was answered.” –Yoshiko, Wish Mom.
