Aaron's Wish Journey

Aaron
A wish is more than just a single day, week or moment in time. It is a journey that starts with a dream and continues to be a source of hope throughout a wish child’s life. For 14-year-old Aaron, this journey was recorded through the words of his mom, Jennifer. Her story captures every powerful moment of hardship, joy and triumph that her son and family have faced since his diagnosis with cystic fibrosis.

Wish Kids: Superheroes in Disguise

With Halloween right around the corner, thoughts of costumes and candy come to mind, but at Make-A-Wish Hawaii, it's about more than just dressing up and trick-or-treating. On this day, we are inspired by those who don't need a cape to be a superhero, the ones who we know are the real heroes all year long - our courageous wish kids.

Wish Granting for Non-Verbal Children

Volunteering for Make-A-Wish Hawaii has been life-changing. I’ve seen a number of wishes in the past year, and I’ve learned that no wish experience is the same. Initially there were a number of people who asked me if I thought wish granting would make me sad, to which I replied it would actually be a joyful experience. What I didn’t realize at the time was how very true that statement would become.

The Power of Matthew's Wish

Matthew
As a mom, it was amazing to see that all these strangers made this magical day for him. I am so grateful to everyone that had a part in Matthew’s wish. It is a week he will never forget, and I know he will cherish it forever.
