Wish Granting for Non-Verbal Children

Volunteering for Make-A-Wish Hawaii has been life-changing. I’ve seen a number of wishes in the past year, and I’ve learned that no wish experience is the same. Initially there were a number of people who asked me if I thought wish granting would make me sad, to which I replied it would actually be a joyful experience. What I didn’t realize at the time was how very true that statement would become.

Wish Volunteer Dianne Sanae Carroll shares her heart for our mission

Do I have a child? No. Well, why do I do this? I was tired of seeing kids be in the hospital for most of their lives, much as I was. They don't have a chance to be kids, and that is heartbreaking for me to see.

About this Blog

Wish Blog gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the wonderful work happening at Make-A-Wish® Hawaii. See how the wishes of local keiki battling critical illnesses come together and how they change lives forever. Hear directly from those who work or volunteer here, or from those in your neighborhood who have been transformed by a wish in some way. Discover why we are so committed to achieving our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child, every year.

We want to hear from you.

We moderate our communities by only one rule: Be nice. We welcome different views - just keep it courteous and considerate. Mahalo for connecting.
