A true local island business, Reyn Spooner continued to spread the holiday cheer with its annual Reyn Spooner Christmas fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Hawaii, with all proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction directly benefiting Make-A-Wish Hawaii to grant the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
This year's holiday event, themed "A Hawaiian Christmas Wish," and hosted again at the beautiful Marisposa at Neiman Marcus, featured Reyn Spooner's limited Mele Kalikimaka collection during a magical night of pupus, entertainment, cocktails and festive spirit. Musical entertainment included Na Hoku Hano Hano award winners and favorite local entertainers including HAPA, Herb Ohta Jr., Sean Robbins, Lei Melket from Keahiwai, Ryan Nakagawa and Usaburo Mendenhall.
The island-style music and classic aloha attire was masterfully complemented by Joey Gottesman's signature, island-inspired, handcrafted cocktails, which guests enjoyed as they perused the silent auction for Reyn Spooner limited edition items, Michel's gift certificates, Mid Pacific Country Club golf certificates, Kualoa Ranch gift certificates, Ala Moana gift certificates and more.
Although many attendees were glowing in classic Reyn Spooner attire, the real stars of the show were the wish kids, the light and purpose of this annual fundraiser. While some kids had their wishes granted and some are still awaiting their great wish reveal to come, the warmth and unity evident in the wish children and their families on this magical night reminded everyone why we do what we do: we grant wishes to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The strength and positive energies of our families who have been touched by the wish experience lifted up the spirits of every attendee, making the Reyn Spooner Christmas fundraiser the great success it has been year after year.
Mahalo to all the individuals, businesses, sponsors, volunteers, board members, Reyn Spooner and our inspirational wish families for an outstanding fundraiser, helping to grant the wishes of Hawaii's children. Happy holidays!
