Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa hosted a beautiful lighting ceremony with wish families all around, cheerful hotel guests, Hyatt employees, beauty queens, veterans, Hawaii's business community and enthralling performances by the Diamond Head Theater's Shooting Stars and captivating Na Leo for the annual Hyatt Lighting Ceremony. It was a heartwarming experience that truly embodied the spirit of Christmas.

Wish kids including Troy (5, retinoblastoma), Mckenzie (4, leukemia), Roberto (8, lymphoid leukemia), Alexander (4, lymphoma) and Donovan (13, sickle cell anemia) illuminated the lighting ceremony by touching their candles to spread light from one child to another, a symbol of the hope, strength and joy that is spread through the granting of each child's wish--wishes made possible through the foundation's partnership with generous businesses and community members like the Hyatt.

The Hyatt Lighting Ceremony also hosts the presentation of funds raised by Hyatt's 9th Annual Swing for Wishes golfing tournament fundraiser in October to benefit Make-A-Wish Hawaii. David Nadelman, Area Vice President of Hyatt Resorts of Hawaii, and his team presented Make-A-Wish Hawaii with a record-breaking check of $135,000, bringing the total amount raised by Hyatt's annual Swing for Wishes over the last nine years to $758,000. The partnership between Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa and Make-A-Wish Hawaii has made possible the wishes of over 100 local keiki battling life-threatening medical conditions.

Following the ceremony, wish families were invited to an intimate evening with the Make-A-Wish Hawaii staff in the Hyatt Ballroom, where the wish kids enjoyed Christmas presents, face painting by Colorwhims, balloon twisting and quality time with family. Live music was performed by Infinite Horizons as the tables were full of laughter, reflection and delicious food prepared by the Hyatt.

Mahalo to the incredible team at the Hyatt for their unending support in our mission to grant the wish of every eligible child in Hawaii and rejoicing in the spirit of giving with us this year. To view more photos, visit our Facebook page.
