The Boys Bunch of Hawaii hosted its 30th annual April Foolish fundraiser; an event of music, food and fun to benefit the children of Make-A-Wish Hawaii. The 30th annual event makes this partnership the longest-standing in the Hawaii community for this wish-granting organization.

Though constantly tired and barely able to walk, 7-year-old Rhythm Esh was able to leave Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children to go be a pirate for a few days. Through Make-A-Wish Hawaii, a charity that turns the wishes of children with serious illnesses into reality, Rhythm was brought backstage at the Diamond Head Theatre in Honolulu on Monday to make a pirate sword and costume. His brother and sister, along with members of the theatre, then put on a mini pirate show.

A young Newman girl’s “Make-A-Wish” trip recently sent her and her entire family to Hawaii. Five-year-old Addison Martins’ wish was to learn to hula dance... and that dream became reality over the spring break from school. Addison suffers from a rare syndrome known as megacystis microcolon intestinal hypoperistalisas, a disorder which prevents the intestines and bladder from functioning properly.

From April 24-29, a young man from Springfield, Mo., with the help and support from the Make-a-Wish Hawaii and the 2nd Battalion, 11th Field Artillery Regiment, 25th Division Artillery, 25th Infantry Division, lived his dream of being a part of the U.S. Army. Dylan Warren, 13, was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition, which has deemed him medically unfit for service... and then along came his wish.
